In 1980 Brian wrote his first screenplay based on his true life experiences as an international judo competitor. Since then Brian has completed over a dozen feature films, some have been produced, many others are currently in developement.
His television credits include a staff writing position on the NBC sit-com BLOSSOM, multiple episodes of HERCULES: THE LEGENDARY JOURNEYS, the HBO hit comedy DREAM ON, CBS's RENEGADE, THE EXILE, MURDER, SHE WROTE, the FOX Network's YOUNG
HERCULES, and CBS's critically acclaimed series TOUR OF DUTY. Brian co-wrote the FOX pilot MANTIC with Jason Alexander.
Brian Herskowitz has taught screenwriting for over fifteen years. He currently
teaches on-line for UCLA Extentions and prior to that spent five years as the sit-com instructor for Writer's Bootcamp. Brian has students from all over the world including Greece, Spain, Argentina, Saipan, Singapore, England, Australia, Iceland, and Hong Kong.
His students include many current and former television staff writers who have worked on such shows as TEEN ANGEL, PRESIDIO MED, NYPD BLUE, ALLY McBEAL, THE FIGHTING FITZGERALDS, COUPLING, THE PRACTICE, and THE FAIRLY ODD PARENTS feature.
